Seaside Warp (20/2 Ring Spun Cotton)

from $48.00

Fine yarn for experienced weavers. The 5th and 6th photos show colors used when winding these warps.

This yarn is a favorite of my friend and co-worker Grace Engel. She weaves with it regularly in her fabulous scarves/shawls. Grace mentioned that although the yarn is strong as a group, these individual unmercerized threads are more delicate than mercerized cotton and should be treated with care. Grace and I are excited to see what you create with the 20/2. I plan on offering quite a few dyed 20/2 yarn choices soon!

This 20/2 ring spun cotton warp has a combination of 10 subtle commercially dyed shades of color. Light grays, Blues, pink, peach, cream. It has approx 8400 yards per pound. Standard sett via Handwoven's Master Yarn Chart: Weaving setts it from 30 to 48 epi. To showcase the warp characteristics, you might want to sett at the tighter end of that scale rather than the more open.

The warps are wound generously in a longer length than listed. If you are supplementing additional warp threads, please wind up to nearest full yarn. Each warp has a white info tag located at the cross. There are loops at the beginning and at the end of the warps. I tie the warp in 6 places: at beginning and ending loops, a thread by thread cross, a counting raddle cross in bundles of 20 threads, and two choke ties near each end. If you need more ties to secure it due to your personal setup techniques, add more. Please look over them carefully when you get them. If they will not work for you, please return them in their original condition for a refund or exchange. There is no refund on shipping costs.

We work diligently to catch knots & other distractions as we wind. Sometimes they get by, so I encourage you to design your weaving project saving one thread from the warp bundle for a repair thread if need be.

Shipping will be added at check out. An additional 5% of product price will be added to orders sent to countries other than the USA. (Minimum of $5) This can be avoided if you have an address in the US to which your warps can be shipped.
