Jellybean Warp - 3,900ypp Rayon Flake (similar weight of 8/2 cotton)
The weight of this rayon flake yarn is similar to 8/2: 3,900 yards per pound, 20 – 24 epi (or even a little tighter to showcase the hand-dyed warp). Because these warps are hand-dyed, no two warps will be identical. This yarn has very little stretch. It would be beautiful mixed with Tencel. It is strong when dry. It should be handled with care when wet.
These are strong enough use alone as a warp. And it mixes well with Tencel.
Since both Tencel and rayon flake have very little stretch (and Tencel is in the rayon family), they can easily be mixed and matched. The flake will not like a lot of friction at the selvage. Using a smooth, solid color Tencel on the selvages and mixed throughout the warp if desired, makes choosing weft a snap! Just use the same color weft as you used selvage threads. That creates a nice neat edge with consistent color every inch of the fabric’s length.
The length indicated on each warp tag is the approximate length after the shrinkage from the dye process. Each warp has a white info tag located at the cross. The warp is tied in 5 places: At beginning loop, the “thread by thread” cross at the beginning, a raddle cross at the end and a choke tie near each end. If you need more ties to secure it due to your personal setup techniques, add more. Please look over them carefully when you get them. If they will not work for you, please return them in their original condition for a refund or exchange. No refund on shipping costs.
Please join us on Facebook’s Blazing Shuttles Chatter page for information about using Blazing Shuttle warps, to share photos of process and final products, and to offer insight and enthusiasm to others who are also using warps from Blazing Shuttles.
Shipping will be added at check out. An additional 5% of product price will be added to orders sent to countries other than the USA. (Minimum of $5) This can be avoided if you have an address in the US to which your warps can be shipped.
