Class: Out of the Dye Pot, Onto the Loom

John C. Campbell Folk School (Brasstown, NC)
May 8-14, 2005

Using creative dye techniques, we will produce beautifully shaded colors in warp and weft then weave one of a kind handwoven cotton fabric. Students will learn to work with Fiber Reactive MX dyes which are colorfast and accessible to home dyers. We will discuss basic color theory, loom set up and weaving skills. This class is intended for students with some weaving experience but is suitable for beginning weavers as well. No dyeing experience necessary.
