Class: Color and Weave Effects using Space-dyed Yarns

Back to Index

John C. Campbell Folk School (Brasstown, NC)
Aug 27 - Sep 2, 2006

This class is about the flow of color as we give traditional techniques of Color and Weave Effects a decidedly untraditional look! Move beyond the conventional look by using distinctive space-dyed yarns provided by the instructor in place of uniformly contrasting yarns usually used. Students can expect to be surprised with the unexpected interplay of color as you create unique fabric to be used however you choose: from linens to clothing to wall hangings. Basic weaving and loom set up will be covered. This is an exceptionally user friendly class for Beginning weavers. Advanced weavers will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in hand-dyed yarns while we work together in the class - as well as take some home to play with, too!
