Class: Weaving: A Colorful Beginning

Back to Index

Penland School of Crafts (Penland, NC)
Jul 8-20, 2007

This class will focus on good cloth and color. Beginning students will find this a supportive and inspiring environment. Experienced students will learn techniques that make the weaving process less stressful and more enjoyable. We will start with basic loom set up and use simple weave structures for small colorful sample fabrics. Then we will space-dye yarns for more extensive woven projects in the second week. Expect to expand and challenge your personal sense of color while learning surprisingly efficient warping and weaving techniques.
