Class: Log Cabin and Rep on One Warp!

Back to Index

John C. Campbell Folk School (Brasstown, NC)
Apr 4-9, 2010

This colorful class will use space-dyed yarns, provided by the instructor, to create two radically different fabrics with only one simple warp set-up. The Log Cabin fabric is a lighter weight, balanced weave in which the weft interacts with the warp to form color and weave effect designs. The Rep is a heavier fabic which showcases the richness and density of the warp colors and stripes.

These are closely related fabrics that are rarely combined on a single warp. In this class we will get a double bang for a single loom set-up!

Come marvel at the variations of cloth, the design possibilities, and the simplicity of the projects. This class is for new weavers (no experience) and also for experienced weavers who will enjoy the surprises and possibilities revealed.
